Crystal
Crystal grew up in Sumner, WA with her mom & twin sister. Growing up she attended church at Sumner Assembly of God and went to high school at Auburn Riverside High School. Crystal then moved to Seattle and studied at the University of Washington for both undergraduate and medical school. She is currently finishing her anesthesiology residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in downtown Seattle.
Brendan
Brendan grew up in Woodinville, WA with his parents & 2 siblings. After being home-schooled for his general education he moved to Chicago, Illinois to study at Wheaton College. After working in politics and business for seven years, he received an age waiver to attend USMC Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA. He is currently a Captain in the Marine Corp Reserves and owns a successful business located in Duvall, WA.
Brendan & Crystal's Story
Once upon a time, in May 2015, Crystal was minding her own business at work when one of her co-workers, Jessica Jung, asked if she was single. Crystal said yes and asked why? Jessica immediately responded with enthusiasm telling Crystal that her friend Brendan was the BEST guy out of all of her single christian guy friends! So the 2 girls proceeded to Google Brendan and of course Crystal was impressed by what appeared to be a surprisingly single, good-looking, and successful man. So Crystal agreed to go to a future barbecue with the intention of casually running into Brendan. But Crystal had been told similar things before and thus had her doubts about ever actually meeting Brendan.
Unbeknownst to Crystal, Jessica rushed home to tell her husband John about the potential match-making and they immediately called Brendan with the good news. Jessica told Brendan "I MET YOUR FUTURE WIFE!!". Jessica continued to tell Brendan how amazing Crystal was and offered to set up the barbecue. However, Brendan declined the casual barbecue run-in and decided to take matters into his own hands. Crystal woke up the next morning and had a Facebook message from Brendan asking her out to coffee. They went out on their first date 1 week later.
Not long after their first date Brendan & Crystal both realized that they had each found someone very special! And over the first few months of dating they both became sure that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
Brendan proposed to Crystal on Christmas morning of 2015 and of course she said yes! They then got married on 4.23.16 at the Seattle Women's University Club. Since the wedding Brendan & Crystal enjoyed adventuring together and living in an apartment in Kirkland, WA.
